Brunei Darussalam's small population cannot provide all the manpower
needed to implement all its development projects. It continues to
allow skilled as well as unskilled foreign workers to work in Brunei,
notably in the construction sector.
As most of the citizens and permanent residents are employed in the
public sector, the Labour Department continues to promote and ensure
more local employments in the private sector.
